Should you take a meaningless job?

Job Searching Again – Should Athletic People Get a Regular Meaningless Job?

By Lance Winslow

What if you were a superstar athlete and smart too? What if you had to decide on a profession other than sports because you were not in a sport that could command the high salaries of professional sports stars in Basket Ball, Football, Base Ball or Foreign Soccer? What kind of a job would you pick that would still allow you to practice and stay healthy?

If you just get a regular mindless job, could you be happy? Would you really want to just work 9-5 and could you be just another employee? Yes, work can be mindless at times, but it entirely depends on what you do. Maybe you might like to be self-employed.

Being self employed is fun, because you get to keep track of more and strategize plan, improvise and adapt on the fly; always solving problems. Working for others can be no fun, if there is not challenge. Of course, part of the problem is YOU, because as a high-powered athlete with a sports background the chemicals in your body, oxygen uptake and drive makes you a different kind of person than everyone else, you know?

There are some people that just like to do their job, hang out and watch TV, quite honestly, I do not understand why they bother and if you are an athlete you probably do not either, still some folks just like to punch a clock. Perhaps, it is human nature to do as little as possible and just get by, the reason you do not understand this is because you are not like them. Athletes are a completely different animal than the rest of the masses. Please think on this when searching for a job.
